SEXY VEGAS REVUE SHOWS—AND THEIR AUDIENCES—CONTINUE EVOLVING
February 13, 2020
Many couples will celebrate Valentine’s Day in Las Vegas at a sexy, revue-style show where the entertainers wear very little and interact with the audience quite a bit. If that demographic comes as a surprise, you haven’t been to one of these shows...
Crazy Girls is a show with Serious Legs
September 14, 2018
Las Vegas is all about reinvention. Very little in Vegas lasts for decades without being torn down, transformed or taken over, so the fact that Crazy Girls has been around for more than 30 years is pretty miraculous. The longest-running topless revue in Las Vegas has become a local institution, surviving the demise of its original home at the Riviera to move to Planet Hollywood Resort (which is also now home to the iconic Crazy Girls bronze statue, featuring a line of showgirl behinds that people often rub for “good luck”).

It's all about the 'Showgirl Bevel', baby.

So, I've been meaning to write a post dedicated to the showgirl bevel for a long, long time. I feel rather passionately about this, so will try my best to keep it as short, sweet and as insightful as is possible. The aim of this post is to spread the bevel love and knowledge, with the hope that the world becomes an even more beautiful, shimmering, shining, beveling place to dance in.

This major milestone in VegasVille nearly slipped through our fingers: “Crazy Girls,” the shimmering adult revue that sparked the famous “No If Ands Or …” promotional campaign, has celebrated its 30th anniversary on the Strip. The show opened at the Riviera in September 1987, and the city marked “Crazy Girls Day” on Oct. 3.

Our Favorite Vegas Statues

There are important questions that people must answer as they go through this life. “What was I put on this planet to accomplish?” “Is all you really need love?” “Does there really need to be a “Will & Grace” reboot?” And, of course, “Which statue throughout the Caesars Empire should I take a selfie with?”

French shows have been part of the Las Vegas entertainment scene from the beginning. “Lido de Paris,” “Folies Bergere” and “La Femme” all came and went on the Strip. But the French-inspired burlesque show “Crazy Girls” was part of the Riviera scene for 28 years. On Friday’s closing night of its Riviera run, some of the dancers shared memories — and malfunctions.

For a quarter of a century without interruption, “Crazy Girls” at the Riviera has bared their butts and breasts with exotic and erotic dance routines. Now producer Norbert Aleman says his updated show will run another 25 years and that one of our Strip’s most recognized statues also will stay put.

The iconic and now-legendary “butt” bronze sculpture of the gorgeous “Crazy Girls” outside the Riviera will remain, but to celebrate the show’s 25th year, new ”butt”-posed photographs of the eight topless temptresses will be used in the 2012 marketing campaign on posters and promotions.
C'mon Get Crazy

In this issue, we revisit "Crazy Girls," playing at the Riviera Hotel. For those who haven't been to Vegas in 25 years, Crazy Girls is one of the longest-running revues in town. It has outlasted and out-publicized most, if not all of the other similar shows along the Strip since it began at the Riviera in September 1987, and it has never looked back.
